Vacations mean different things to different people. For some sitting on a lake shore watching the boats go by, shopping, or sitting on a boat reading a book is their idea of a perfect vacation. Others like a little more adventure with some rock climbing and hiking. Utah offers both with a million varieties. Moab, Canyon land, Zion and Bryce offer some of the worlds most beautiful red rock formations. A day or several days can be spent at each of these locations enjoying the natural beauties.
Lake Powell is a dream vacation if you like the heat and water. Not a great place if you are a land lover unless you go in the winter time. The exploration around the lake is beautiful with so many formations of unusual types. We know of people who have taken two or three months to hike the perimeter of Lake Powell, what an odyssey.
Camping is available in virtually every part of the state from desert to mountain to plains. Quaking oaks and pine trees dot the northern mountains with junipers to the south. If you love the mountain there are endless sites to enjoy a night or a week.
Hiking through the Shoot of Muddy Creek or along the Narrows or Subways of Zion's offers unique experience to hike the waterways. These can either be over night adventures or a short few hours if you start at the bottom of Morningside Walk at Zion.
For those needing less adventure and more leisure there are golf courses galore, spas, massage establishments, beautiful hotels and shopping. Resorts are located in out of the way areas like Heber and down town Salt Lake City where the night life is a little more lively and the restaurants serve up delectable delights.
Wherever you decide to vacation in Utah be it the back of a horse or a luxury spa, lodging in Utah is plentiful and there is something for everyone with plenty to come back for.
