Cities that are as big as Phoenix are constantly awash with courier traffic rushing all around the city. The amount of business that they receive means that all couriers have to give themselves a reasonable amount of time to organize and schedule their deliveries, which is why all companies have cut off times. The cut off time that a courier in Phoenix may have is the time that you have to contact them by in order to receive certain types of courier service.
Cutoff times different depending on what type of service you want to try and get from your courier For example, if you want same day service, the cut off time is typically very early in the morning. That way the courier has enough time to get a courier to your location and make the pickup with enough time to actually complete the delivery on a same day basis.
Most of the time though, you're not going to be paying extra for same day delivery service, and are instead probably going to be opting for a next day pickup. When this happens, the cut off time is usually going to be later in the day before the day on which you are requiring pickup. Normally, they will make this time a few hours ahead of whatever time they close, as this allows them time to schedule the next day's deliveries.
Of course, there are many different schedules that are kept by courier companies of various sizes. If your courier company closes at six in the evening, then the cut off time for next day pickup is probably around three or four. If your courier closes at midnight, cut off is likely around nine or ten, although some companies may have it much earlier in the day, and it is always best to check just in case.
There are also courier companies out there which offer 24 hour service. There is no hard or fast rule as to when those companies will have a cut off for a next day pickup. It is safe to say though, that you will need to at the very least request it the day before, that is to say, before midnight the day before you want the pickup to occur.
Remember also that it's always better to call sooner rather than later. Your courier company will appreciate it when you give them more warning on any delivery.
